GREAT TASTING COFFEE

Basic Coffee

There are many brewing methods, so you should start by checking the instructions that came with your brewer. Here are some general guidelines:

  • Start with 1-2 rounded tablespoons of ground coffee per six ounces of water.
  • If you are grinding your beans, here are a few things to know: the finer you grind them, the stronger your coffee will be. For drip coffee makers, use a medium grind; for espresso makers and mocha pots, use a fine grind; for French press, use a coarse grind.
  • Start with cold, fresh water. If your tap water has a noticeable flavor, use filtered or bottled water.

Coconut Coffee

No picking, husking or cracking of coconuts is required – this recipe assumes someone’s already taken care of that for you, and placed all that coconut goodness into convenient bottle form. You’ll notice we suggest that rather than pricey coconut syrup, you opt for a coconut extract. A little goes a long way and you’ll have more latitude to sweeten your beverage to taste.

Ingredients
Coconut extract
½ tsp. coconut extract per 6 oz. cup
1 rounded Tbsp. ground Eight O’Clock Original
or Colombian Peaks Coffee per 6 oz. cup
Cream, milk and/or sugar optional

Simply add coconut extract to the bottom of the pot, and brew and serve as you normally would.

White Chocolate

Sweet meets its match: white chocolate and delicious Eight O’Clock Coffee. If you don’t have morsels handy you can crumble your favorite bar instead. Of course, feel free to add a little more or less than a tablespoon depending on how sweet you like your treats.

Ingredients
1 Tbsp. white chocolate morsels
1 rounded Tbsp. ground Eight O’Clock Original Coffee per 6 oz. cup
Cream or milk optional

Place the white chocolate morsels in the bottom of your cup. Brew a pot as you normally would and pour into each cup. Stir for about a minute, or until the morsels have dissolved.

Marshmallow

Candy Bar

This combination is out of this world. It works well with any of our medium roasts, but for some reason the Original variety seems particularly suited to this smooth intergalactic treat.

Ingredients
1 Tbsp. mini marshmallows per 6 oz. cup
1 snack-sized chocolate/caramel-type candy bar per 6 oz. cup
1 rounded Tbsp. ground Eight O’Clock Original or Colombian Peaks Coffee per 6 oz. cup
Cream or milk optional

Place the mini marshmallows and candy bar in the bottom of your cup. Brew a pot as you normally would and pour into each cup. Stir for about a minute, or until the candy bar and marshmallows have dissolved.

1 rounded Tbsp. ground Eight O’Clock Dark Italian Roast Coffee per 6 oz. cup
Cream or milk optional

Place the squares in the bottom of your cup. Brew a pot as you normally would and pour into each cup. Stir for about a minute, or until the candy has dissolved.
